The Clanranald Trust for Scotland at
Duncarron Medieval Village

DUNCARRON IS A MEDIEVAL FORTIFIED VILLAGE BUILT IN THE CARRON VALLEY, NEAR STIRLING, SCOTLAND. THE PURPOSE OF THE VILLAGE IS TO PROVIDE AN EDUCATIONAL FACILITY FOR SCHOOLS, GROUPS, LARGE GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS WISHING TO LEARN MORE ABOUT DAILY LIFE IN EARLY MEDIEVAL SCOTLAND. THE VILLAGE WILL ALSO BE USED FOR EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES SUCH AS CULTURAL AND MEDIEVAL FESTIVALS, CORPORATE INCENTIVE TOURS AND TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES. FILM AND TV LOCATION FOR PERIOD FANTASY FILMS AND HISTORICAL EDUCATIONAL DRAMAS AND DOCUMENTARIES.

 

DUNCARRON CAN ALSO BE UTILISED AS AN EVENT SPACE FOR OTHER GROUP USERS ALSO SUCH AS WEDDINGS/BANQUETS, MEDIEVAL OR VIKING STYLE BANQUETS AND OTHER SPECIAL OCCASIONS, HANDFASTING CEREMONIES AS WELL AS A LOCATION FOR JOUSTING TOURNAMENTS VIKING DAYS ROMANS’ AND CELTS AND LARP EVENTS. 

ALL PROCEEDS FROM BOOKINGS WITH DUNCARRON THROUGH THE GART ARE DONATED TO THE CLANRANALD TRUST

CLANRANALD TRUST

The Clanranald trust for Scotland is a recognised Scottish charity formed in April 1996 by Charlie Allan. The purpose of the trust was to construct Duncarron. To do this Clanranald have participated in many events, activities and film making to realise their project. Of the major bulk of the funding raised so far towards the project, 90% of the funds raised , now at a staggering 2million has been generated through volunteers committing their time and contributing their fees to the project. The value in working hours also dedicated to this project greatly exceeds two and a half million pounds.
